Karen Marie Hensley, age 51, of Chicago, Illinois was born on January 23, 1963 and passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Karen is survived by her two sons, Christopher (Michelle) Sanchez, Hobart, IN and Jeffery (Melissa) Hensley, IL; grandsons, Isaiah Sanchez, Caleb Sanchez, Dante Hensley and Shawn Hensley; sisters, Tammy Berg, Colleen Sawyer, Vicky Erbes and Glenda Hensley; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She had a longtime companion Pablo Torres. Karen was a very outgoing person with a great personality. She would help others out whenever she could. Karen grew up in Chicago, Illinois and lived there her whole life. Karen was currently disabled but was a nurse in her profession. Karen was preceded in death by both her parents, Zane Hensley and Bertha Booker. We loved Karen very much and she will be missed by many. Please pray for our family. Funeral services will be held at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, Indiana, 46405 on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00am.
