Karen Sue Jones, age 55, a longtime resident of Portage passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011. She was born on March 8, 1956 in Kentucky the daughter of James and Betty Barrickman. Karen was a 1974 graduate of Portage High School and received an associate degree from Davenport College. Karen was a proud cancer survivor who loved to crochet, be with family, and her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her loving family; sons Jonathan (Kim) Casey, Valparaiso, and Jeremy (Amber) Jones, Portage, daughters Michele (Tony) Cizmadja, Portage, Katheryn Jones, Portage, and Jamie (Robert) Perez, Hobart, grandchildren Andrew, Tyler, Natalee, Anastasia, Autumn, and Jonathan, sister Jayne (Frank) Sieiro, Las Vegas, NV, and other loving family and dear friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jimmy Jones, her daughter Angela Jones, her granddaughter Faith Jones, and her grandson Alexander Cizmadja.

Visitation for Karen Jones will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A funeral service for Karen Jones will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home with Pastor Vince Nelson, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
