Karen L. Nelson

Karen L. Nelson, age 63 of Hobart passed away Monday June 7,2021. She was born on April 24,1958 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Donald and Shirley Clasen. Karen loved genealogy and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Christine (fiancé, Eddie Kowalczyk) Wineland of Hobart, IN; two grandchildren April and Kyle Underdahl; two brothers, Donald (Janelle) Clasen and John Clasen; three sisters, Melissa Clasen, Virginia (Mick) Lence and Shirley (James) Ford and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dennis L. Nelson, her parents and brother, Joe Clasen
Memorial visitation will be Friday June 11, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a funeral service at 7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Scott Jones officiating.
