Kathern Sue (nee MacKenzie) Stafford, age 53, of Lake Station, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015. She was born on December 1, 1961 in Gary, Indiana to John and Edna MacKenzie. On October 10, 1997, in Lake Station, Indiana, she married the love of her life, Jack Stafford. Kathy will always be remembered as a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her father: John (Sharon) MacKenzie; beloved husband, Jack Stafford; daughters: Sara Stafford, Sabrina (Cyndi) Groves, Jamie Campbell; grandchildren: Teddy Mathias, Trentyn Groves, Adam Tolin, Ava McKinney; brothers: Richard (Dorthy) MacKenzie, Jeff (Cheryl) McKinney, Danny (Connie) McKinney; sister: Mary Jo (Junior) Gaskins; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend: Melody Hamilton; beloved dogs: Sasha and Abby.

Kathy is preceded in death by her mother, Edna MacKenzie; daughter, Bridget Groves; brothers: Chuck McKinney, Mike McKinney.

A funeral service for Kathy will take place Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 5:00 PM at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station with Pastor Scott Marshall officating.
