KATHLEEN A. "KATHY" BOWEN (nee Garzella), age 61, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 at home and was promoted to glory to which she looked forward. Kathy had been a Hobart resident for 39 years and was a graduate of East Gary Edison High School in 1969. She was a loving wife who enjoyed cooking, crafts and spending time with her nieces, nephews and family. Kathy was past-president of the Salvation Army Home League and member of Real Life Community Church in Portage.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Allan Bowen, 3 brothers, Jack (Kathy) Garzella of Porter, Phil (Barbara) Garzella of Portage and Mark Garzella of Lake Station, sister, Ellen (Gilbert) Navarro of Gary, numerous nieces & nephews and her canine buddy, Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents, June & Jack Garzella and sister, Anna Koonce.
Private funeral services were held Friday, February 24, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, with Rev. Duane Schmidt officiating.
