Kathleen M. Spielmann, age 80, of Crown Point, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Brentwood of Hobart Assisted Living Facility with family by her side.  She was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 18, 1938 to the late Laurence and Josephine (nee Sheridan) Masterson.  She attended Aquinas High School.  In October 1958 she married her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert.  Together they had two children, Gregory and Eileen.  Kathleen was a homemaker and spent much of her time supporting the church and monastery.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society and served as a fill in Cub Scout leader when others left for Vietnam.  Kathleen enjoyed sewing, shopping, flower gardening, and fishing in Minnesota. She was fond of traveling, especially when she had the honor to travel to Italy, Rome, England, Spain and Ireland for family reunions. The highlight of her travels was to the Vatican and the East Coast to visit family and tour the lighthouses. Her favorite sport teams were the Chicago Bulls, Bears, and White Sox.  She also loved her collection of Cookie Jars. Kathleen will be remembered as a loving and faithful wife and mother who will be dearly missed.

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Robert Spielmann; son, Gregory Spielmann; daughter, Eileen (John Cox) Spielmann; brothers, Don (Cathy) and Dan (Debbie) Masterson; loving nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Kathy Masterson and many lifetime friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Brian Masterson; and her parents.

A funeral service for Kathleen will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Patrick J.
