KATHRYN STALION, age 94, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Southlake Methodist Hospital. She was born on April 10, 1917 in Marion, KY to Nancy and John Beard, who preceded her in death. She resided in Marion until she moved to Northwest Indiana in 1961. She always enjoyed flower gardening and was known for her good cooking, especially her eggnog at Christmas. Kathryn will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Kathryn is survived by 3 sons, James E. Stalion of Valparaiso, John W. Stalion and Jack L. Stalion both of Hobart; 2 daughters, Virginia H. Ordway of Goodland, IN, Patricia K. (Paul) Zbyrowski of Hobart; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Stalion in 1971; grandson, Douglas Ordway; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; and daughters-in-law, Mary and Karen Stalion; son-in-law, Hollis Ordway.

A funeral service for Kathryn will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600W. Old Ridge Rd., with Rev. Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.
