Kenneth T. Carson, "Ken", age 68, a life-long resident of Lake Station, IN, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023. Ken was born on November 2, 1954 in Gary, IN to the late Don and Kathalene (nee Taylor) Carson. He was a graduate of River Forest High School, Class of 1973. Ken worked originally laying train tracks, then moved up as a Switchman, then was an Engineer with EJ&E Railway. Ken married the love of his life, Pat (nee McCree), on July 15, 1981 and together they raised two wonderful children. Ken was a devoted father. He coached Lake Station Little League for years and never missed his kids sports games. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Ken liked to take the oldest grandkids swimming and bike riding and he loved to play with the youngest ones. He liked to go on vacation with his family, to Tennessee and Arizona where he intended to move to. No matter where he went, Ken always seemed to know somebody. In his spare time, Ken liked to play his acoustic guitar and solve Sudoku puzzles. He was a loving husband, beloved father, devoted grandfather, dear brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Ken is survived by his wife of 41 years: Pat; children: Jason (Antionette) Carson and Melissa (Jeff) Klemp; four grandchildren: Mackenzie, Kyleigh, Zachary, and Zoey; siblings: Cathy Carson and Randall Carson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs that were always under his feet: Taylor and Kelly. Ken is preceded in death by his parents: Don and Kathalene. Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will take place immediately following visitation at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Ron Warren. Cremation will follow funeral services.
