KENNETH E. COLLMAR, age 66, of Hobart, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Saint Mary Medical Center. He served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army in the 4th Infantry Division and was part of Operation Francis Marion in Vietnam. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion Post #100 and VFW Post #9323. Kenneth was employed as a Union Carpenter and was a member of Local 599. He enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and spending time fishing. He will be missed dearly.
Kenneth is survived by wife, Marie (nee Mikesell); 3 children, Kenneth (Joy) Collmar of Wheatfield, Kelly (Jim) Crownover of Hobart, and John (Sue) Collmar of Brownsburg; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Linda (Wiley) Hogue of Benton, KY; several nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Collmar; sister, Marlene Ross.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
A funeral service for Kenneth will be Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.
