Kenneth "Doug" Reberg Sr

Age 58 of Lake Station passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born on December 2, 1966, in Gary, Indiana to the late Kenneth Reberg and Sandra (nee Macdonald) Collins. Doug was the owner and operator of R&S Limo and enjoyed driving for Make a Wish Foundation. Some of the stars he was honored to transport in the limo were Carol Burnett, and the munchkins from the Wizard of Oz. Throughout the years, Doug and Susan, fostered, mentored, and nurtured over 25 "bonus kids", who each had a special place in his heart. Magnet fishing, inventing things, taking on mechanical projects and gambling were some of his favorite pastimes.  His family will forever cherish the memories of his dedicated love he had for his late wife Marlene (nee Grubb) Reberg and their son, Kenneth D. Reberg Jr.

On August 4, 2018, Doug and Susan Shivley had a wedding ceremony with him dressed as Goofy and her dressed as Minnie Mouse due to an inside joke, "Why wouldn't Mickey marry Minnie? Because she was f___ing Goofy."

Doug is survived by his son, Kenneth Douglas Reberg Jr; wife, Susan Shivley-Reberg; two stepdaughters, Katie Shivley and Brie Littrell (fiance, Austin Riley); granddaughter, Oakley Riley; sister, Vicky (Garrett) Prince; nephew, Jacob Prince; niece, Carla (Leroy) Love; sister-in-law, Tracy (Robert) McLearn; brother-in-law, Larry Newman and numerous bonus children and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Russell "Rusty" Reberg and sister, Rhonda Bryant Newman.

A funeral service for Doug will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 5:00 pm with Pastor Ricky Long officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 3:00 pm until time of service.
