Kimberly Caroline Martin

Kimberly Caroline Martin, age 61 of Valparaiso passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.  She was born on February 28, 1963, in Valparaiso, Indiana.  She was the beloved mother to Ricky Martin, who preceded her in death in 2015.  She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and aunt.  Kim enjoyed taking care of her house plants, playing bingo, shopping and listening to country music.  She had a big heart and always took the time to make her loved ones feel special.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Terry Martin of Valparaiso, IN; her mother, Patricia (Ronald) Everson of Knox, IN; brother, Danny D. Gilbert of Knox, IN; two sisters, Glossie (Harlan) Elkins of Valparaiso, IN; Anita (Dennis) Durk of Hobart, IN; sister-in-law, Bobbie (Bob) Emerick of Chesterton, IN; nieces and nephews, Dennis, Jason, Natasha, Amber, Patricia, and Brian; and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving son, Ricky Eugene Martin, brother, Chester Eugene Gilbert, and her father, Danny D. Gilbert, mother and father-in-law, Gene and Hopie Martin, sisters-in-law, Cathy Cox and Pam Morris; and nephew, Robert Emerick.

Funeral services are Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.  Visitation is Thursday, February 13, 2025 just prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.  (219) 762-3013.
