Konstantinos M. Karakozis, age 72, of Portage passed away Thursday May 21, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 28, 1942 in Chios, Greece to the late Mihail and Kalliope (Mihalas) Karakozis. Konstantinos was a chef for the Rosewood Family Restaurant. He was an avid cook; he was a loving Husband, Father and Papou.

Konstantinos is survived by his loving wife Maria; three children Mike (Brandi) Karakozis of Portage; Kelly Karakozis of Portage and Xpiso (Brittney) Karakozis; five grandchildren Maria; Kelsie; Kosta; Zoie and Zayne; four brothers and sisters Paraskevi Tsilimos of Portage; Yianni (Angeliki) Karakozis of Lowell; Katina Mamounas of Portage and Markos (Maggie) Karakozis of Portage; one sister-in-law Paraskevi Karakozis; many nieces, nephews and family friends.

Konstantinos was preceded in death by his parents Mihail and Kalliope; a brother Georgos Karakozis; and two brothers-in-law Pantelis Tsilimos and Pantelis Mamounas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday May 28, 2015 at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral 8000 Madison Street Merrillville, Indiana 46410 with Rev, Theodore Poteres and Rev. George Pappas officiating. Burial will follow in Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana with a 5pm Trisagion service.
