L. JACQUELYN DISTELL FLOOD, age 90, of Hobart, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at VNA Hospice. She was a longtime area resident and co-owner of Flood Brothers Construction with her late husband, Carl. Jacquelyn was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and American Legion Post 54 Auxiliary. She was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed.
Jacquelyn is survived by her 4 sons, Carl David (Ruth) Flood of Valparaiso, James E. (Roberta) Flood of MI, Robert W. (Tina) Flood of Hobart, John Per (Angi) Flood of Denver, CO; 2 daughters, Anne Marie (R. Wendell Ellis) Bretts of Minnetonka, MN and Janet R. (Nick) Korzow of Valparaiso; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Betty Webber of Munster, Barbara (Phillip) Ehrhardt of Brownsburg, Dolores Brennan of Mequan, WI, and Renee (Roger) Galli of Exiter, NH; many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Carl in 1984; daughter, Patricia Detterline; her parents, William and Bertha Distell and brother, William Distell, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to VNA Hospice or Sacred Heart Academy of Lisle, IL.
Funeral services for Jacquelyn will be Friday, July 19,2013 beginning with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel and going in procession to St. Bridget Catholic Church, 568 E. Second St., Hobart for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
