IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry L.
Law
December 21, 1937 – September 10, 2022
Larry Lamar Law, age 84, entered into rest on September 10, 2022. Larry was a faithful child of God who fought the good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give him at that day (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
Born on December 21, 1937, in Patterson, Arkansas Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace C.and Ethel Law, brother Wallace Mitchel Law, and two sisters, Monteen McCurdy and Margie Frost.
Larry is survived by his wife, Louise (Corsbie-Dixon), and two daughters, Melissa (Jim) Dean, and Tammy (Butch) Shepard, four grandchildren: Jerie Bolin, Justin (Beth) Shepard, Jessi Shepard, and James Isaac Dean, bonus grandson, Chris Bolin, 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, in addition to countless friends and family.
After graduating from high school in 1955, Larry joined the United States Army, where he served until 1958 in Kyoto, Japan. Later, Larry settled into the automotive industry, owning and operating a service station in Gary, IN and auto repair/towing service in Hammond, IN, until he retired in 2014.
Larry was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A long-time member of Faith Mission Church in Portage, IN, Larry played the lead and bass guitars in their worship ministry, in addition to teaching the adult Sunday class.
Larry is leaving behind a legacy of preserving rather than wasting, helping others when we can, and serving the Lord with all our hearts.
One of Larry's favorite passages of scripture is Psalm 1:1-3 "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (2) But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (3) And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
