Larry Wayne Nelson

Larry Wayne Nelson, age 81, passed away at Golden Living Center in Valparaiso on Sunday, November 14,2021. Larry was born on August 3, 1940, in French Lick, Indiana to the late Harry C. and Dolly E. (nee Winenger) Nelson

Larry worked for Portage Township Schools as a head custodian. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon L. (nee Cook) Nelson; son Michael W. (Victoria) Nelson; two daughters, Debbie (Ronald) Lapine and Tracy (David) Nederman; step- children, Kathy Cozmanoff, Danny (Emily) Grdgon, Joe Grdgon and John Grdgon; grandchildren, Ginger (David), Misty, Ronnie (Jocelyn), Jenny (Larry), Mikey, Jessie, Scott and Stephanie; great grandchildren, Lucas, Preston, Sophia, Makayla, Mattisyn, Mackenzie, Matthew Jr., David, Ronald III, Emma, Devin, Bram, Julie, Kaylee, John, Serenity. Spencer and Madilynne; sisters, Joyce Pearson, Geraldine Pervine and Connie (Roy) McBride and many other loving family members and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, stepson, Jim Wielogorski, brothers, Elvis, James, Clifford, Melvin, and Harry Nelson Jr.; sisters, Ruby, Alta and Githa.
