Laura Jean Chylla

Laura Jean Chylla, age 58, of Michigan City passed away Wednesday May 21, 2025, at the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was born July 3, 1966, in Portage, Indiana to the late William and Alice Mae (Kanoff) Clowers. Laura was a cookie maker with Hearthside Food Solutions. She was a loving grandmother, mother, and wife. She will be missed by her loving family.

Laura is survived by her husband, Christopher Chylla of Michigan City; two sons, William Leonard Whitlow, and Alex Austin (Brittany) Willis; two daughters, Sharon Ann Russel, and Jessica Marie Whitlow; one stepdaughter, Ashley Chylla; six grandchildren, Savannah, Laura, Elly, Jennia, Easton, and Amiera; three brothers, David (Mildred) Clowers, Randy (Donna) Clowers, and Brian (Amanda) Clowers; one sister, Linda Farr; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Laura wished to be cremated with no attended services at this time.

Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana was entrusted with her arrangements.
