Laurel (nee Grund) Zatorski, age 56, of Hobart, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014. She was born on November 4, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Ernest and Shirley Grund. Laurel was a blue ribbon winner for her work with cross stitch at the Lake County Fair. She also enjoyed volunteering in the community and was always ready and available to talk with anyone at any time.

Laurel is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Larry Zatorski; mother, Shirley Ann Grund; sisters, Melanie (Terry) Rowe and Carol (Martin) Kobler; sisters in law, Joann (John) Goldman and Linda (Manuel) Briones; brother in law, Richard (Maureen) Zatorski; very special nieces and nephews, Todd Rowe, Amy Rowe, Nicole (Josh) Rumohr, Erich Kobler, Brian Goldman, Kathryn (Kevin Finnegan)Goldman, Joseph (Evonne) Briones, Matthew Zatorski and David Zatorski.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Grund. Memorial contributions in Laurel's name may be made to the Hobart Food Pantry, 200 S. Hobart Rd. or Barrington Ridge Baptist Church, 97 Bracken Parkway, Hobart, IN 46342.

A funeral service for Laurel will take place Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Pastor Mitch Whidden officiating. She will be laid to rest at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Schererville at a later date. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the funeral home.
