Lee Allen Darkis

LEE ALLEN DARKIS, age 56, of Lake Station, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center.  He was born in Gary to the late Herman and Lela Darkis.  Lee enjoyed riding his moped, gardening and growing his sunflowers.  He had a special place in his heart for his dog, Auggie, and cat, Pearl, as well as the neighborhood strays.   Lee will be remembered as a kind and loving man to his friends and family.

He is survived by his sisters, Tammy Douglas of Hobart and Herma (Damian) Franchville of Lake Station; brother, Danny (Jeanette) Darkis of Lake Station; girlfriend, Peggy Sander of Lake Station; 2 aunts, Linda (Perry) Divley and Lena Malcom; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Lee's family.

A funeral for Lee will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Bob Burton officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, Indiana. A visitation for Lee will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 11:00 am until time of service.
