LEONA BUDZIELEK (nee Lesko), age 93, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011. Leona was born on April 11, 1918 in New Chicago to Victoria and John Lesko. She was a lifelong area resident and member of Assumption Catholic Church for over 60 years. Leona was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family.

Leona is survived by her 2 sons, Jim (Sue) Budzielek of Hobart and Wally (Carla) Budzielek of Portage; 5 grandchildren, Jim (fiancée, Terri) Budzielek, Jr. of Chesterton, Karen (Frank) Dzik of Hobart, Jennifer (Joe) Martin of Burns Harbor, Lisa (Robert) Nichols of Portage and Christine Budzielek of Portage; 6 great grandchildren, Chase, April, Tyler, Andrew, Owen and Gage; many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1999; her parents and her brothers, Peter and Chester Lesko.

A funeral service for Leona will be Wednesday, June 8, 2011 beginning at 9:30 a.m. with prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart and processing to Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, 3530 Illinois St., New Chicago, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation for Leona will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W.
