Leona "Lonnie" Larson, age 79, of Lake Station passed away Saturday January 23, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Lonnie was born December 9, 1936 to the late John and Sophie (Gusc) Zieba. Lonnie enjoyed summering in Michigan, was an avid reader and loved raising her family. She was a member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church.

Lonnie is survived by her loving husband of of 54 years Ralph Larson, Sr.; her two children Ralph (Kelly) Larson, Jr. of St John and Barbara (James) Zuidema of South Bend; three grandsons John, Andrew and Michael Larson; three step grandchildren Bethany, Cole and Brianna; her brother John (Betty) Zieba of Kentucky; her sister Marianne (Larry) Rogness of Noblesville and her sister-in-law Brenda Zieba of Lake Station.

She was preceded in death her parents and one brother Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Thursday January 28, 2016 with 9:15 am Prayers at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN and proceed to Assumption BVM Church 3530 Illinois Street, Hobart, IN at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
