Leonard L. Douglas, age 59 of Hobart passed away at Saint Mary's Medical Center on Thursday, June 14, 2012. He was born on August 9, 1952 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Leonard H. and Kathleen (nee Tucker) Douglas Jr.. He worked for 37 years as a Shear Operator for Republic Steel and was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Portage and a member of Local 2003. Leonard will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Leonard was a people person and was a lover of life. He will truly be missed.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Tammy (Nee Darkis) Douglas of Hobart, IN. 2 daughters; Tracy Botts of Hobart and Stacy DeYoung of Hobart, 3 grandchildren; Aubrey DeYoung, Torie Botts and Kenneth DeYoung, his loving parents Leonard and Kathleen Douglas Jr., sister; Judy (Steve) Benton of Ohio, 2 brothers; David (Sandy) Douglas of Tennessee and Gary Douglas of Ohio; 2 nephews, Dwain (Katondra) Benton and Daniel Benton all of Ohio, and many other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services are Monday, June 18, 2012 at 1:30 pm at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Portage with Pastor Sumit Sen officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Hobart. Visitation is Monday, June 18,2012 from 9:00 to 1:30 pm at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Portage.
