Leslie Hanna

Age 79, of Miller, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 21, 1946, the daughter of the late John McCleary and Florence (nee Mifanik) Hanna in Staten Island, New York. She was a 1964 North Central High School graduate in Indianapolis, Indiana and received a bachelor's degree of Arts and German at Ohio Wesleyan University in 1968.  Leslie retired from Thoesen Tractor and Equipment Co.as an administrative assistant. Leslie was known as the hostess with the mostess and living her best life in flip flops, she was a Parrot Head, loved the beach, biking, bowling and sailing. She had a passion for fashion and enjoyed her trips with her girlfriends to New Orleans. Leslie was an avid gardener, and recipe follower and enjoyed watching all sporting events, her favorites include Cubs, Bears and the Bulls, also MSNBC, and the news. Leslie loved her dogs; Bentley, Braxton, Lancelot, and the mass number of other dogs she cared for and loved. She will be remembered as a fun loving sister, aunt, great aunt, great great aunt and friend.

She is survived by her sister, Marguerite "Peggy" (Byron) Smith; two nieces, Heather Hulec and Kimberly (Ned) Shaw; two nephews, Jason (Doreen) Armbruster and Brad Smith and many other loving family members and friends.

Leslie is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Susan Hanna -Armbruster and her significant other of 30 yrs, Gordon Mason.

In lieu of flowers donation to the Humane Society of Northwest, Indiana, 6100 Melton Road Gary, Indiana 46403 in Leslie memory would be appreciated.

Per Leslie wishes there will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Rees Funeral Home and Cremation Services handled arrangements.
