Age 88, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. A longtime resident of Portage, she retired in 1987 from the Packaging Corp of Griffith after 23 years. Lillie was born in Knox County, Kentucky on October 24, 1929 to the late James and Velva (nee Asher) Johnson. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Lillie is survived by her son, Floyd T. Bruner; two daughters, Rhonda Carpenter and Sondra Burke; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack, Ernest, and James; seven sisters, Irene(her twin), Pat, Pam, Shelia, Dora, Jean and Rose and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd R. Bruner; daughter, Linda Carnell; her parents and two sisters, Marie and Alice.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave, Portage. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage. (219)762-3013 or at www.reesfuneralhome.com
