Linda "Deleon" Clemans

Linda Clemans, age 68, of Lake Station passed away Monday October 16, 2017 at St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.  Linda was born October 9, 1949 in Gary, Indiana to the late Samuel and Petra (Luna) DeLeon.  Linda was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and wife. Her favorite job was working in a daycare center.  She was raised in the Brunswick area of Gary prior to moving to Lake Station.

She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond; seven children, Charles (Karen) Shields of Hebron, David (Deborah) Shields of DeMotte, Samuel (Nyonda) Shields of Rensselaer, Melissa (Chuck Custin) Shields of Lake Station, Vince (Vivian) Clemans of Roselawn, Jeff Clemans of Phoenix, AZ and Vickie Goble of Hamlet; 18 grandchildren, Charles III, Steven, LaDawn, Stephanie, William, Britne, Camden, Nathan, Kristen, Danielle, Matthew, Joshua, Justin, Tyler, Carissa, Nolan, Austin and Trevor; eleven great grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Daniel (Tencha) DeLeon of Lake Station and Benjamin (Blanca) DeLeon of Merrillville;  and loved her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law Rose Clemans.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday October 20, 2017 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are preferred to the River Forest Scholarship Fund.
