Linda L. Mischanko

Linda L. Mischanko (nee Tigner), age 80 a longtime Portage resident passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025.  She was born on January 15, 1945 in Memphis, TN  to the late Paul and Eva Tigner.  She loved to watch NASCAR and read.  Linda worked at Nipsco as a Time Keeper and also as a Bartender at the American Legion Post 454 in New Chicago.  She also fostered cats for the Independent Cat Society.

She is survived by her husband, Alex T. Mischanko of Portage, IN;  one son, Jason Mischanko of Portage, IN; close friend, Renee Fitzgerald of Portage, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnne and Betty, and one brother, Jerry.

Cremation was entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage. (219) 762-3013 .
