Linda R. Padlo

Linda R. Padlo (nee Layhew), age 65, of portage and formerly of Hobart, passed away after battling cancer on Thursday, June 9, 2022.

Linda was born on February 13, 1957 in Hobart to the late Charles and Dorothy (nee Helton) Layhew.  She was a homemaker and was very devoted to caring for her children and grandchildren.  Linda was a member of the Women's Porter Central Horseshoe League for 27 years.  She loved to lay out in the sun and tan while watching her grandkids swim in the pool.  Linda was always there to support her family for every sporting event, band concert, and more and never missed a grandparent's day celebration.  She is a beloved wife, devoted mother, adoring grandmother, dear sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her children: Cortnie (Aaron) Lowe, Brandie Thiel, and Cody Thiel; husband: Stanley "Rusty" Padlo, Jr.; grandchildren: Austin and Morgan Lowe, Emmalin Cogdill, and Brodyn Thiel; stepchildren: Jennifer (Chuck) Salerno, Stanley "Trey" Padlo, and Sean Padlo; several step-grandchildren; brother: Charles "Sonny" (Sue) Layhew; and many nieces and nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Dorothy and siblings: Lonnie and Russell Layhew and Denise Potts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 1:30-5:00 P.M. at the American Legion Post #260 (5675 Mulberry Ave, Portage).  Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
