Lloyd Harden "Cotton" Denny Sr., age 83, of Lake Station, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, December 13, 2014. He was born on July 20, 1931 in Brooken, Oklahoma to the late John Harden and Gertrude Nell Denny. Lloyd retired after 31 ½ years of working as a Steel Burner at U.S. Steel. He was an avid fisherman.
Cotton is survived by his son, Lloyd Denny (Donna) Jr.; daughters, Panda Fay Cable, Tanya Kay (Donald) Marks; brothers, CJ William Denny, Royce Harley Denny, Ronald Wayne Denny; sisters Irma Ailene McDuff, Karen Nell Cook; grandchildren, Eric Lloyd (Amanda) Denny, John Richard Lindamood, April Nicole (Chad) Powell, Brandon Joseph Marks, Lorna Kaye Marks; great grandchildren, Ayden Elizabeth Denny, Gavin Robert Powell, Maverick Lloyd Powell, Brooklyn Skye Reichert, Kinsley Paige Denny.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Harden and Gertrude Nell Denny; his beloved wife, Olga Joan Denny; brothers, John Thomas Denny, Carl Monroe Denny, Vernon Dale Denny, Paul Edward Denny, Theron Doyle Denny; sisters, Ruby Irene Cook, Mary Darlene Fielding, Joyce Fern Denny.
A funeral service for Cotton will take place at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN with Hank and Phillip Cook officiating. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart. Visitation will be held Monday, December 15, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
