Lois A. Borchelt, age 81, of Evansville and formerly of Hobart, passed away April 25, 2016. She was born on August 15, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Edward and Arletta Manne. Lois retired after 28 years from St. Mary Medical Center where she worked as a Registered Nurse. She was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Mothers Circle of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Couples Club of Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Hobart Arts League. She enjoyed reading, genealogy, photography and traveling; and had traveled to all fifty states. Lois will always be remembered for her compassionate and skillful nursing care and her artistic talent.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Kenneth Borchelt; three sons, James Borchelt of Coldwater, MI, Dan (Sylvia) Borchelt of Somerville, MA, Ted Borchelt of Evansville, IN; one daughter, Sharon (Carl) Hall of Wabash, IN; seven grandchildren, Marcos, Sylvia, Sarah, Elizabeth, C.J., Nathan, Nicholas; three great grandchildren, Aiden, Audrey, Edward, and one on the way; and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Allen Manne.
A funeral service for Lois will take place Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342 with Pastor Kirk Horstmeyer officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery.
