Lois E. Detterline, age 84, of Deltona, Florida and formerly of Hobart passed away on Ascension Day and the National Day of Prayer, Thursday May 5, 2016. Lois was born July 6, 1931, in Danville, Illinois to the late Ora and Leota (Cooper) Hughes. She was a homemaker, mother and wife. She was a former long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart, the Trinity Lutheran School PTA and the church Women's Circle. Lois loved singing and sang in the choir in every church of which she was a member.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Lester of Deltona, FL; also she is survived by her three children, Paul (Diane) Detterline of San Antonio, TX, Tim (Joyce) Detterline of New Palestine, IN and Cheryl (Pete) Argeroudis of Deltona, FL; six grandchildren Melissa (Justin) Merrill, Sarah (Joshua) Steen, Beth (Aaron) Sneegas, Tracy Lynch, Megan (Andy) Burakiewicz and Eric (Kelsey) Detterline; five great grandchildren Ava, Gavin, Eve, Eli and Marlee.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Richard and Ora; and one sister Margaret.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday May 12, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Rev Kent Wartick officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Wednesday with a 7 pm Prayer Service at the funeral home.
