Lois N. Hodge, age 86, of San Pierre, Indiana, and formerly of Lake Station, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016. She was born on July 27, 1930 in Warsaw, IN. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of New Chicago. She enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School and entertaining residents of nursing homes with music. She also enjoyed fishing and camping. Lois had a mischievous nature and loved to cook for her family. She will always be remembered as a good wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Lois is survived by her beloved husband, Harold "Wayne" Hodge, Sr.; sons, Kenneth (Heather) Dommer, William (Deborah) Dooley, Leonard (Cindy) Dooley, David (Regina) Dooley, Harold W. Hodge, Jr.; grandchildren, Helena Dommer, Stella Dommer, Kim (William ) Dixon, Leonard Dooley, Amber (Bobby) Millsap, Jason (Chrissy) Dooley, Aaron (Sarah) Dooley, Kristina (Justin) Marshall, Daniel Dooley, Ryan Dooley, Brandy (Wesley) Cutter, and Julia Hodge; numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Nellie McColly; one brother; and two sisters. Memorial contributions in Lois' name may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 50 E. 91st St., Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209.
Visitation for Lois will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service for Lois will take place Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of New Chicago, 401 Huber Blvd, Hobart, IN with visitation there from 9:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Jerry Stepp will be officiating. She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
