Lonnie W. "J.R." Willoughby, Jr., age 37, of Portage, passed away August 24, 2016. He was born April 23, 1979 in Hobart, Indiana to Lonnie and Barbara Willoughby. He was a 1997 graduate of Edison Lake Station High School. Lonnie was currently self-employed and worked from sun up till sun down remodeling homes. He was a very caring person and will always be remembered for his benevolent nature. Even in death, Lonnie continued to give by donating his organs so that others may live.

He is survived by his parents, Lonnie W. Willoughby Sr., and Barbara Willoughby; fiancée, Sierra Gentry; sons, Kyle Handing, Lonnie "Kevin" Willoughby III, Colton Willoughby; daughters, Kayla Casteel-Willoughby, Kara Willoughby, Karma Willoughby; brother, Nicholas (fiancee, Jessica Flowers) Willoughby; aunts, Linda (Joe) Witczak, Juanita (Terry) Frizell; uncle, Roger (Brenda) Willoughby; many other loving family members and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife, Jessica Willoughby; paternal grandparents, William and Cora Willoughby; maternal grandparents, Brent W. Mincey and Agnes Green; niece, Katheryn Willoughby. Memorial contributions in Lonnie's name may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

A funeral service for Lonnie will take place Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, IN with Pastor David Nykamp officiating.
