Loraine Healy (nee Carter), age 88 of Aetna passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012. She was born on April 16, 1923 in Keysburg , KY to the late Prentice and Ethel Carter. She worked for many years at the Beauty Spot Restaurant in Gary and the Ambridge Inn. Loraine loved gardening and baking. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Shoumake and Carl Healy and 1 brother, E. Earl Carter.

She is survived by 5 children, Ronald (Mary) Shoumake of Portage, IN; Sheila Bottos of TX; Cheryl (Webb) Worth of OH; Malcolm (Tana) Healy of TX; Kevin (Robin) Healy of MO; 1 brother, Hank Carter of KY; 1 sister, Flora Bell McDowell of WV; 7 grandchildren, Susan (Bobby) Helmecy of IN; Eric Bottos, Sandra Bottos, Anabelle Jones, Danielle Jones all of TX; Anthony Healy Worth of OH; Nicholas Richardson Healy of MO; 2 nephews, Prentice (Liz) Carter of OH; Wayne (Linda) Carter of KY; 2 nieces, Ava (John) Cox of WV; Chrissy (Chris) Farmer of SC; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kayla Helmecy.

Funeral services are Monday, February 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Ave., Portage with Rev. Jack Worth officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
