LORNA MAMELSON, age 82, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. She was born on September 22, 1933 to the late Louis and Elizabeth Simonson. Lorna was a lifetime area resident and worked as a nursing home administrator. Lorna and her husband, William Mamelson also lived in Naples, Florida for several years before she returned to Valparaiso after the loss of her beloved husband in 1987.
Lorna is survived by her son, Craig and daughter-in-law Cheryl Mamelson of Denver, CO and son Paul Mamelson of Vandalia, MI; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Mamelson, Kelly Mamelson, and Eric Ensweiler; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Ensweiler; brothers and sisters, Luella Stout, Evelyn Wilde, Bill Simonson, Chuck Simonson, and Harvey Simonson.
A visitation for Lorna will be Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage from 11:00 a.m. until Noon at which time there will be a procession to Calvary Cemetery for burial.
