Lorrie Ellen Valenta- Boyd age 51, of Portage, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014. Lorrie was born to Robert and Anna (Nee Farago) Mayberry on July 19, 1963 in Gary, Indiana. She married Butch Boyd on January 1, 2011 in Portage, Indiana. Lorrie was a Property Supervisor for Bluestone Properties in Merrillville and she previously worked as a property Regional Manager at LaPorte Lake Properties, California, Vegas and Indiana. .She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
Lorrie is survived by her loving husband, Butch of Portage; mother, Anna (Ben) Ross of Willis, Texas; two sons, Brandon (Jackie) and Bradley Valenta both of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Laura (Walter) Taylor of Michigan City, Indiana; four grandchildren, Kaylee Ann, Karlee Lynn, Austyn Michelle and Jonathan Tyler; two brothers Cory Allen (Helen) Mayberry of Portage, Eric J.( Karen) Mayberry of Spring, Texas ; sister, Debra Ann Krall of Apache Junction, Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family, friends and many friends of the Invaders M.C.
She was also preceded in death by father, Robert Allen Mayberry and sister, Kimberly Lynn Duncan.
A funeral service for Lorrie will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 12:00p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage IN. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, Indiana. A visitation will be Monday, December 15, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage.
