LouAnn Hopson, age 64, of Chesterton passed away in her home on Sunday April 11, 2021 with her family by her side.  LouAnn was born February 18, 1957 in Hammond, Indiana to the late William and Shirley (Stotts) Gates. She was a teacher retiring from the Duneland School Corporation in Chesterton.  She loved golfing and was the varsity softball coach at Chesterton High School for thirty-five years.  Following her retirement she assisted the Westville High School softball coach.

LouAnn is survived by her loving husband of forty-one years, Jim Hopson of Chesterton; her son, Drew Hopson of Chicago, Illinois; her brother, Kevin (Bridget) Gates of Chesterton; her nephew, Kevin Gates; and several dear friends and extended retations.

LouAnn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Gates.

Private family services will be conducted at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
