LOUIS H. NIKSCH, age 94, of Crown Point, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Wittenberg Village in Crown Point. Louis had been a lifelong Hobart area resident and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart. He was a supervisor employed at US Steel in Gary for 42 years retiring in 1978 from the Quality Assurance Department.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Evelyn (nee Burkman) Niksch, 4 children: Bonnie Schumann of Connecticut, Dr. William (Judy) Niksch of Harbor Springs, MI, Louis J. (Terri) Niksch of Crown Point and Linda (James) Maul of Eden, UT, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
Funeral services and visitation will both be held Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Wittenberg Lutheran Village Chapel, 1200 Luther Dr., Crown Point, with the visitation beginning at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Cory Wielert officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, Indiana.
