LOUIS "LEE" PORTER, age 78 of Portage, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Lee was a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Inland Steel in 1990 and was a member of the Deep River Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, 3 children: Jeff (Karen) Porter of Hobart, Amy Tackett of Portage, and Randy Porter of Hobart, 4 grandchildren: Jeff Barrett, Stacy (Chad) King, Carolyn Tackett and Kyle Porter, brother, Paul Porter and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Walter, Jennings, Roscoe & Harold Porter and sister, Fern Hansen. In lieu of flowers contributions to either the Visiting Nurse Association of Porter County or Deep River Church of Christ would be appreciated.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 28 2011 at 10 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Mr. Ron Buche, Minister, officiating.
