LOUIS ROSTA, age 96, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor in Portage. Louis was a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident and retired from US Steel in 1971 with 34 years of service and then retired from the School City of Hobart in 1981 after 10 years. His hobby was taking care of his home. Louis was a hard working man most of his life. He loved his family and after his retirement in 1981 he and his wife were able to enjoy many years of traveling.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Margaret, son, Dennis Lynn (Pamela) Rosta of Shelby Township, Michigan, daughter, Barbara Gross of Hobart, 3 granddaughters: Erin (Shawn) Sanchez, Lauryn Rosta (fiancé, Jason Shugars) and Stacy Gross, 2 great grandsons, Vincent Louis Mitchell and Colton Shawn Sanchez, sister-in-law, Helen Rosta of Valparaiso, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Gross and 4 brothers & sisters: William Rosta, Bela Rosta, Irene Balogh and Helen Molnar. Memorial donations are preferred to the VNA of Porter County, 2401 Valley Dr., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
