Louise A. "UU" Judge

Age 91, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 21, 1923 in Gary, Indiana to the late Elmer and Isabella (nee Rappatta) Trottier. On August 21, 1944 Louise married the love of her life John Judge in Hobart, Indiana. She dedicated her life to selflessly taking care of her family and loving and caring for many foster children. Louise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart and a member of American Legion, Post 54 Auxiliary. As the world's most wonderful mother, she was a great listener and an even better cook. Louise enjoyed bingo, bunco, knitting and crocheting. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her two sons, Charles (Dena) Judge of Crossett, Arkansas, Sam (Lynette) Savich of Hobart; four daughters, Connie (Don) Chase of Ashland, Wisconsin, Linda Morgan of Valparaiso, Linda "Susie" (Tom) Stepp of Kentucky, Denise (Fred) Swalek of Highland; sister, Elaine O'Rourke; sister-in- law, Phyllis Trottier of Hobart ; 24 grandchildren; 36 great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Judge; grandson, James Morgan; brother, Thomas Trottier and parents, Elmer and Isabella Trottier.
Donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the VNA Hospice in Valparaiso.
A funeral service for Louise will take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Drive, Hobart with visitation there from 9:00 am until the time of service. Reverend Gary Nagy will officiate. Louise will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
