Louise "Lou" Wampler-Parnell, age 87, of Portage passed away Sunday March 26, 2023, at Avalon Springs Health Campus in Valparaiso. She was born September 22, 1935, in Savannah, Tennessee to the late Arch and Lula (Massey) Kyle. Lou was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, and dear friend. She loved music including bluegrass festivals, dancing, and traveling all across this great country.

She is survived by her son, Billy Joe (Hope) Wampler of Portage; three grandchildren, Crystal (Dreher) Robertson, Brittany (Duncan) Ross, and Gabrielle (Cole) Fondersmith; four great grandchildren, Abigail, Penelope, Nora, and Harper; her special companion, William Lake; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kyle; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her Parents; husbands, Robert Wampler, and Jim Parnell; her son, Jeffery Kyle Wampler; and six siblings; Paul Kyle, Ilene Handley, Lillian Cresswell, Billy Kyle, Edna Earl-Devore, and Ruth Riley.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday March 31, 2023, at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be Friday from 11 am to the time of the service at 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
