LUCY E. REED, age 73, of Hobart, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 6, 1952, in Harlan County, KY to the late Willie and Dorthy Reed. Lucy enjoyed music, especially songs by Elvis and the Beatles. She was very family-oriented and cherished the time she spent with her loved ones. Lucy adored her little dog, Sophie, who brought her much joy. She especially liked summer and the flowers that it brought. Lucy enjoyed nature, particularly hummingbirds and owls. Lucy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Lucy is survived by her 2 children, Jason (Mallory) Reed and Nicole (Kyle) Freeman; grandchildren, Waverly Reed, Weston Reed, and Lorna Freeman; brother, William (Barb) Reed; other loving family.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Halcomb and 2 brothers, Joe Reed and Jack Reed.

Visitation for Lucy will be Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 Noon at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Please visit www.reesfuneralhomes to extend online condolences.
