Lula Belle Thompson

Lula Belle "Lula" B. Thompson (nee Sundmacher), age 99, a longtime area resident passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019.  She was born on April 4, 1920 to the late Herman and Ruby (nee Luther) Sundmacher in Harco, Illinois.  She was a Soldier with the Salvation Army of Porter Co. She will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt and friend.

Lula is survived by her sister, Ruby Foster; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Thompson; her parents and two sisters, Margaret Arthington and Edna Ripperdan.

There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 12 Noon at the Salvation Army of Porter County Corps., 799 Capitol Rd., Valparaiso, IN  46385.  Refreshments to follow.  Burial will take place at Brushy Township Cemetery, Harrisburg, Illinois.  Cremation was entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana, 46368.  (219) 762-3013.
