Lupe B. Marquez (nee Barraza), age 86 passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020. She was born on September 11, 1934 in Waco, Texas. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend

She is survived by her loving husband, Juan;  son, John (Mariaelena) Marquez; three daughters, Olga (Sergio) Cortez, Irma (Frank) O'Neil and Rosalie Marquez; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.

Lupe was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Marquez and her parents, Damacio and Juanita Barraza.

A Mass of Christian burial will begin with 9:15 prayers on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with procession to St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station, In for 10:00 am Mass with Rev. David Kime, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation is Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary starting at 4:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
