LYLE RAY DUNIGAN, age 82, of Portage, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at St. Mary Medical Center.  He was born on March 17, 1938 to the late William J. and Dorthea Dunigan. Lyle worked as a crane operator for 30 years and retired from US Steel in 1995.  He proudly served his country in the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #260.  He will be remembered as a loving man with a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving companion, Laura Sloas; son, Raymond A. Dunigan; sister, Joyce Dunigan; grandchildren, Joseph and Lauren Lujan, Aidan and Logan Sloas; special friends, Tammy and Mark Lujan, Pat and Penney O'Neil, Veronica Morrison, Sara Enochs and all his great "poker friends".

Lyle was also preceded in death by brothers, Francis and Ralph Dunigan; and granddaughter, Sarah Enochs.

Funeral services for Lyle will be Monday, September 21, 2020 at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station, IN with visitation from 9:30 until the time of service at 11:30 a.m.  Burial will follow at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery.
