LYNN E. GEORGE, age 63, of Portage, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She was born in Gary on December 16, 1952 to the late Harry and Miriam Schultz. Lynn married the love her life, Basil George, on July 24, 1971 at the Chapel of the Dunes in Miller. She was a member of Portage Evangelical Covenant Church, Portage YMCA and was employed at Relax Dentistry in Portage. She enjoyed summer getaways with her husband to the Lake of the Woods in Decatur, MI. She will be remembered for her love of animals and her devotion to her faith, family, and friends. Lynn's grandchildren were the light of her life and she cherished the time she spent with them.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Basil George; 3 children, Bryan (Amy) George of Portage, Angela (Nate) Gonzales of Porter, Vasilis George of Portage; 3 grandchildren, Avary, Cole and Cooper Gonzales; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Schultz of Valparaiso, Helen (Darren) Kirtley of Foresthill, CA, and Maria (Don) Flournoy, Midland, TX; close friends and family; 2 four-legged friends, Callie & Milo.

Lynn was preceded in death by her son, Nick George; brothers, Jeff and David Schultz; nephew, Tommy Schultz.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for Vasilis' education fund.

Visitation for Lynn will be Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, IN from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Michaile Broadnax officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home with cremation at a later time.
