Lynn Johnson

Lynn Johnson, (nee Haussman), age 83, of Portage, passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, February 19, 2022. She was born in Gary, Indiana on April 15, 1938, to the late Earl and Mary (nee Durkin) Haussman. Lynn retired at the age of 70 from Residential Clinical Services. Lynn had many interests, including teaching piano, going to the beach with her grandchildren, collecting coins and stamps, sewing, and watching classic musicals.

She also loved writing poems about her family, life experiences, and faith. And of course, nothing gave Lynn more pleasure than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lynn is survived by her children, Steven (Vicki) Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Greg (Jody) Johnson; daughters, Cindy (Jesse) Fultz, Kristy Johnson; daughter-in-law, Debbie Johnson, grandchildren, Nicole (TJ) Black, Christopher Johnson, David Johnson, Kyle (Codi) Johnson, Alex Johnson, Alyssa (Tyler) Spoolstra, Jennifer Fultz, Natalie Fultz, Erik Green; great-grandchildren, Greenlee, Ian, David, Jr., Emmit, Beckett, Dylan, Aspen, and soon to be great-granddaughter, Evelynn; sister, Betsy (Denny) McDonald.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom; son, Scott Johnson; sister, Doris Kelly; brother, Robert Haussman; grandson, baby Jacob; and her parents.

Visitation for Lynn will be conducted from 4-7 pm Wednesday February 23, 2022, at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. Funeral Services for Lynn will begin Thursday February 24, 2022, with 10:30 am prayers at the Funeral Home and then processing to St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church 2447 Putnam Street Lake Station, Indiana 46405 for the Celebration of the Rite of Christian Burial with Rev. Jaime Perea officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
