M. Loraine Claussen (nee Shipley), age 89 of Crown Point passed away Friday, June 13, 2014. She was born on January 9, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Bert and Thelma Shipley. She enjoyed knitting and genealogy.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane L. Keeney of Crown Point, IN; her son, Howard (Elizabeth) Claussen of NC; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie (Sean) Carson, Alex (Meredith) Keeney, John (Molly) Claussen, Jeni (Jake) Davel, Ari Kirby, and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. Claussen.

Cremation will take place with Rees Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Winfield Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chicagoland Christian Village, 6685 E. 117th Ave., Crown Point, Indiana with Chaplain Frank Klobucar officiating.
