M. Frank Scott "Poppy", age 89, of Hobart passed away Thursday March 24, 2016 in his home. Frank was born October 1, 1926 in Mexico, Kentucky to the late John and Dova "Mae" (Jennings) Scott. Frank was a WWII Army Veteran. He retired from US Steel where he was a General Foreman of the #1 B.O.P. shop. Frank was a devoted Christian that never gave up praying for his family and friends. Frank was an active member of New Life Community Church (Formerly First Baptist Church of Hobart). He was a former member of the Supervisors Club.
Frank is survived by his wife Nancy Scott of Hobart; two daughters, Shelley (Chris) Maldonado and Lisa (Kerry Williams) Scott both of Hobart; three step children, Michelle Demmon of Hobart, Donna (Craig) Gordon of Missouri and Jim (Taylor) Demmon of Iowa; twelve grandchildren Jessica, Erica, Evan, Megan, Lane, Reagan, Jelly, Monica, Robert, Ian, Lauren, Caden; one great grandson Rylan; his sister-in-law Ernestine Scott; brother-in-law John (Becky) Lancaster and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife Georgene; three brothers, Earl Cosby, John Scott and James Scott; and two sisters, Martha Sue Witten and Mary Arflack.
Memorial visitation will be conducted Tuesday March 29, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the New Life Community Church (Formerly 1st Baptist Church of Hobart) 1 N. Pennsylvania Street, Hobart, Indiana 46342 followed immediately by a 2:00 pm Memorial Service with Pastors David Tipton and Daniel Gute officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are preferred to the Baptist Children's Home or the Lake County Animal Control Center.
