Mable Nelson age 76, passed on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Northwest Indiana Health surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 28, 1948, to the late John K. and Marion (nee Mathis) Bisset in Chicago, Illinois. With a lifelong passion for caregiving, she spent many years supporting those in need. As one of nine siblings, she cherished her close-knit family. Whether you called her Momma, May Mo, sister, Mabes, Aunt Mabes, grandma or Nana Mo; she loved us all. All the kids were her babies. She loved all her babies, and they all loved her. She was a strict "drill sergeant" but the kids always wanted to see her, and they ran to hug her when she was there. She will be deeply missed by all of her "kids".

She is survived by her four children; son, Robert David Nelson Jr., three daughters, Lisa (David Stastny) Nelson, Elizabeth Duran and Mary (Christopher Brown) Cenko; brother, William (Yvonne) Bisset; three sisters, Betty Soucie,  Erdine (Dennis) Weis and Emily Bisset-Medina; grandchildren, Ruby, Megan, Andy, Justin, Samantha, Jackson, Ali, Sabrina, La Donna, Jonathan, Robert, Michael and Erica; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Mable was preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Nelson Sr., her parents, three brothers, James, Robert and John Bisset; and sister, Helen Wilson; and brother-in-law, Richard Medina.

Per Mable's wishes there will be no services at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
