Macarthur Bowen “Mac,” age 83, of Lake Station, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026. He was born on June 17, 1942, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Baker and Maxine Bowen.

On June 17, 1961, Mac married the love of his life, Eleanor Kettwig, in Crown Point. He dedicated many years of hard work to his career before retiring from the Boilermakers Union Local #374. Mac was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering devotion to his family. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather.

Mac found great joy in fishing and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and loved ones. His presence, kindness, and steady guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Henry (Rina) Bowen and Timothy Bowen; his daughter, Virginia (Scott) Murphy; his grandchildren, Anthony Bowen, Christopher Bowen, Shawn Murphy, and Megan Murphy; his great-grandchild, Chance Bowen; and several brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Baker and Maxine Bowen; his beloved wife, Eleanor Bowen; and six brothers and sisters.
